SimplyBe Coffee Grand Opening!

On June 29th, we celebrated the grand opening of SimplyBe Coffee at Giant Food in Purcellville!

We were beyond thrilled to have so many members of the community join us at the ribbon cutting ceremony to acknowledge the importance of our mission to provide work opportunities to individuals with differing abilities.

This amazing partnership with Giant Foods highlights the need for expanding inclusive hiring. Work opportunities help those with special needs find purpose and belonging, as well as building independence and confidence. Thank you, Giant, for making this expansion a reality and for your generosity!

A special thank you to Chair Phyllis J. Randall, Town of Purcellville Mayor Bertaut, and Loudoun Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Council Vice Chair Blackwell for taking the time to attend and offer such encouraging remarks.

Additionally, thank you to the nearly 100 business leaders, non-profits, elected officials, local government reps, churches, families, volunteers, and more that came out to support and celebrate those with differing abilities!

Come see us again soon!

Thank you to Wildlight Photography for the amazing photos!

Dental Clinic in Eastern Loudoun

Earlier this month, we provided 24 children in Eastern Loudoun with free dental care.
Working with a local public high school, the teens and their siblings received much needed dental cleanings and check-ups, thanks to the support of Dental Innovations of Virginia – Drs. Joon and Julie Coe – and their mobile dental clinic.

Hosted in Leesburg at Destiny Church, these families were also provided follow-up information, dental supplies, prayer, and an opportunity to learn more about the resources Tree of Life can provide.

We are so grateful to be a part of this collaborative effort and make an impact for local families!

Volunteer Highlight

This month, we are proud to highlight Bill Partlow, an amazing volunteer who is always ready to serve! August will mark Bill’s one year anniversary of volunteering with Tree of Life, and we are so thankful for his dedication.

HAPPY 250TH BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people whom He has chosen as His heritage.” Psalm 33:12

As I read through Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles, I’m reminded that the history of Israel was never simply about kings, battles, or accomplishments. It was always about the hearts of the people and whether they would follow the Lord. There were seasons of faithfulness and blessing, and there were seasons of wandering and consequences. Through it all, God remained faithful.

This year, as America celebrates 250 years, I find myself reflecting not only on our history, but on the hearts of the people who make up our nation today. Our defining moments are not only found in innovation, growth and progress. They are also found in the quiet obedience of people seeking to honor God in their homes, churches, workplaces, and communities.

Psalm 33 was written specifically about Israel, but there is still something for us to consider. A nation experiences blessing when its people turn their hearts toward the Lord. God’s blessing begins one life at a time. As individuals surrender themselves to Him and seek His will, those lives become part of something greater than themselves.
God’s blessing reminds me that He is at work in every season of life. In the past, He called us to Himself. In the present, He walks with us and provides what we need. In the future, we remain His people and His inheritance.

Today, I thank God for America and for the freedoms we have been given. More than that, I thank Him for the freedom to seek Him, follow Him, and live for His purposes. My prayer is that each of us would look to the Lord and allow Him to accomplish His will in our lives.

May God continue to bless America as we seek Him together.
 May you be blessed,
Chaplain Wayne Ruckman
