Tree of Life’s Transitional Housing Program:

Finding Hope, Stability, and a Place to Call Home

Tree of Life’s Transitional Housing Program serves two distinct but equally vital needs: supporting families and individuals facing financial crisis, and providing affordable, accessible housing for individuals with disabilities. Though the circumstances that bring people to our program differ, the goal is the same: to walk alongside them, remove the barriers in their way, and help them build a stable future.

Those who come to our Transitional Housing Program often arrive at one of the hardest points in their lives, facing homelessness, financial instability, or circumstances that have made stability feel out of reach. What they find here is more than an affordable place to live. It’s also mentorship, financial coaching, spiritual care, and life skills support that together help to create lasting change. Central to that framework are our Housing Mentors, who logged 419 hours of one-on-one mentoring this past year. As one mentor shared of her mentee, “This program has been a wonderful stepping stone for somebody in a crisis that needs support. It has helped her to feel more secure, to give her time to work through areas of her life and find stability.”

For individuals with disabilities, the combination of limited affordable housing, inaccessibility, and lack of support makes living on their own a significant challenge. Our housing program removes those barriers, offering stable, affordable homes alongside a community of support. Our partners point to three things the program has given them: independence, hope, and belonging. As one shared, ‘Not having to worry about how to get by while you build your future has been life changing for me’. A reminder that what we offer is not just housing, but a foundation for a different kind of life.

Our Transitional Housing Program, currently serves 27 individuals across 8 units. Since the inception of the program in 2011, more than 70% of residents have left in a stronger position than when they arrived. Whether the need is crisis stability or the chance at independence, the goal is the same: equipping people to move forward with the love of Jesus Christ.

We would love your help in continuing this success…

This July, we are raising funds to help support this vital ministry, with a goal of $60,000 that will directly support the partners in our transitional housing – helping us to keep the rent affordable and assist in many areas of their life as they work to improve their situation for the long term.

Can you help support this HOPE GIVING ministry with a donation?
