New Regional Director in Eastern Loudoun!
Tree of Life is delighted to announce that Tanvi Skiba has been selected as our new Regional Director for the Eastern Loudoun Region!
Tanvi lives with her husband in Ashburn and currently attends Cornerstone Chapel. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and brings an engineering and project management experience in both federal and entrepreneurial environments as part of her background. She is excited to answer this call to ministry and give of her experience to all our endeavors within the community.
We are thankful for the Lord’s provision in helping us find the right person for this important role.
Be on the lookout for an “Open House” in Eastern Loudoun where the Tree of Life community will be able to come meet Tanvi and hear what’s going on with the new Center.
English Classes
Our ESOL volunteer teams make a difference every week helping adults improve their English language skills.
This vital part of our Lifeskills Branch is all about providing a “hand up” to help people in need get to a better place, finding more independence and stability. We are so grateful for these volunteers and their commitment so showing up for their neighbors, building relationships, and ultimately sharing the love of Jesus.
If you or someone you know could benefit from FREE English classes, check out our calendar for the latest information.

June Houck: A Life of Service
June Houck is a devoted volunteer at our Western Loudoun Food Pantry and the proud mother of twin daughters, Kathryn and Julia, both of whom have special needs.
Her family’s journey with Tree of Life began when she discovered the CAST program, a community-based initiative that provides real-world experience and skill development for young adults transitioning out of high school – Tree of Life is one of their partners.
From this first experience with Tree of Life, June and her daughter’s involvement with us just kept growing, helping them find a community and purpose, and June experienced a personal calling to serve.
Read her story here.
Capstone Students
We had an amazing group of students from local high schools choose Tree of Life for their CAPSTONE Service Projects this year!
These students were so helpful and creative in how they approached supporting Tree of Life – with everything from theatre productions to food drives and hands on work in our pantry, centers, and coffee shop – they truly made a difference!
There is no doubt that all these seniors have a bright future ahead of them and we wish them all the best as they begin this new phase of their lives!
Thank you!

Volunteer Highlight
This month, we want to take a moment and thank some of our faithful volunteers in Eastern Loudoun.
This amazing team has remained committed to serving those in need through our food pantry. They have graciously moved from serving in Leesburg to our new Ashburn location, picking up all their regular tasks and adding new ones. Just last week they were busy sorting the hundreds of pounds of food donated by Grace Covenant Church!
We are so grateful for each and every one of these volunteers! Thank you for choosing Tree of Life and helping us reach out to those in need with the love of Christ.
Donor Spotlight
We are so grateful for the Purcellville Police Department!
The PPD has been a faithful supporter of Tree of Life. Through their “Cram the Cruiser” events they donate hundreds of pounds of food for our pantry every year, as well as school supplies and backpacks for our big Giveaway event.
Their officers are also regular attendees at our community dinner on Thursday nights, getting to know those that come for a meal, answering questions, and just building relationships.
Thank you, PPD, for all you do for Tree of Life and the Purcellville community!

LET FREEDOM RING!
During July, I think of freedom. I think of how this country was founded, and all the freedom we enjoy in this great country. That’s why July 4th is such a special day!
Likewise, I learn from the Apostle Paul that I have a greater reason to celebrate. Let’s listen to what he wrote in a letter to the Galatians:
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery (Galatians 5:1).
When I look at sin as a burden to which I was yoked, I realize that I wasn’t free at all. God got my attention, and I realized that I needed to invite Jesus in my life. When I gave my life to Jesus, then I realized true freedom.
I now see that Jesus died and rose again so that I could be free. He gave His life for me and wants me to give my life to Him. When I do, then I know that true freedom is walking with Jesus every day!
Thank you, Jesus, for the freedom You have given us!
May you be blessed,
Chaplain Wayne Ruckman
