April Newsletter

In 2024, Tree of Life was blessed to impact more than 36,000 individuals in Loudoun County and beyond!

These impacts are more than just a number – each one is a story.  A story of someone who needed help and received more than a hand out…. they found a hand UP.

To all the donors, volunteers, churches, businesses, and other partners that have worked with us in 2024 to make a difference for someone in need – THANK YOU.

You are all a part of those stories, thank you for making an impact.

March was Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month!

Every March, the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities and its partners collaborate to lead this important awareness month. The annual campaign highlights how people with and without disabilities come together to form strong communities.

This year’s theme – We’re Here All Year – deeply resonated with what we do at Tree of Life, coming together and supporting this community through multiple ministries all year long:

Still Waters – providing social events that foster relationships and independence.
Work Heartily – helping with job and volunteer placement.
Advocacy – assisting families with receiving the support they need from local public schools.
SimplyBe Coffee – providing work and volunteer opportunities.

We are so grateful to be a part of a community that recognizes and support this amazing group of people!

Still Waters Bible Class

Our Still Waters Ministry has a brand new program providing respite and Bible lessons!

This ministry event combines our Still Waters goals of providing independence, fellowship, and respite for families of individuals with disabilities, with our efforts to provide spiritual care to everyone we serve.

At our first meeting, attendees enjoyed dinner together and then heard the Gospel in an engaging and hands on way designed just for them. There were colorful pictures, videos, and a lamb to pass around, in addition to reading directly from the Bible.

It was such a sweet and inspiring event!  If you’d like to join us next time, click the link below to sign up.  We also invite you to learn more about our Spiritual Care efforts here.

Volunteer Highlight

This month we want to highlight one of our amazing Community Dinner volunteers… Stacy!

Stacy (on the right) has been a faithful volunteer since 2021 and recently took over as our Ministry Leader for the Community Dinner in Purcellville.

Her enthusiasm for this ministry is absolutely contagious! Her smile and warmth bring joy to our partners, host groups, and staff every Thursday evening. She is such a blessing!

Thank you, Stacy, for all you do and your commitment to serving those in need!

Donor Spotlight

We are so grateful for the ongoing partnership of The Grafton Group at Atlantic Coast Mortgage, a faithful supporter of Tree of Life.

Their generosity shines through as both sponsors and participants in our annual golf tournament, helping us raise crucial funds to serve those in need.

Beyond that, they’ve chosen to host their Christmas customer appreciation event at SimplyBe Coffee, further supporting our mission to provide meaningful employment for individuals with disabilities.

Their commitment to our ministry and community is a true blessing—thank you, Grafton Group, for making a difference!
