Clothing with a Cause
The Clothing Closet exists with a simple but powerful mission: to provide free clothing year-round to those in need, while ensuring that every person is treated with dignity and respect.
For years, our annual clothing giveaways showed us the incredible demand in Loudoun and surrounding areas—hundreds of families lined up each time to receive much-needed items. But as seasons changed and children grew, it became clear that once-a-year events weren’t enough. Families needed ongoing access to clothing.
That realization led us to open our first boutique-style thrift store, the Clothing Closet, on 21st Street in Purcellville. From the start, our goal was to create a boutique environment where anyone would enjoy shopping—while also giving those in need the opportunity to shop privately, through our voucher program, with the very same dignity as any other customer.
The impact has been remarkable. The success of our Purcellville store paved the way for a second location in Leesburg in 2023, making the ministry even more accessible to families in Eastern Loudoun. Since then, over 1,500 people have received free clothing and shoes through the Clothing Closet—items valued at nearly $30,000 in the past year alone.
This ministry thrives because of the generosity of our community. Every donated shirt, pair of shoes, or winter coat helps a neighbor in need. In 2024, over 34,000 lbs of clothing was donated! And now, through our annual fundraiser, you can take that impact even further by helping us cover the cost of the free clothing we provide through our voucher program.
