Still Waters Valentines Dance

On Friday, February 11th, our Still Waters ministry held a Valentines Dance at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. To make the night even more special, we were able to stream the Night to Shine Virtual Celebration. It was an evening full of fun, friendship, dancing, photo booths, food from Chick-fil-A Purcellville, and desserts! We hosted over 40 partners and many of their families who stayed to enjoy the night with us! THANK YOU to the army of volunteers who made this event possible. We are so blessed to have offered this opportunity to this very special community.

The Sill Waters ministry has a full calendar of exciting events planned throughout the year.  Some of opportunities include: art classes, Bible studies, a game night, and a field trip to a “Seussical Jr.” performance! Check out the Events Calendar on our website for more details.

“Galentines” for the Housing Ministry

The outpouring of love across February continued with the Clothing Closet’s “Galentines” event for our Housing Ministry residents and Mentors. It was a wonderful evening of pampering with complimentary haircuts from Jenny’s Salon, a private shopping experience for clothing and accessories, and refreshments!

Family Vehicle Follow Up

Thank you for your response in helping a single mother of 5 children in our community. A generous donor stepped forward and supplied a minivan! We are so thankful to the Lord for His provision!

Can you help us again? Another vehicle need was brought to our attention recently for one of the women in our Housing ministry. We are looking for a reliable vehicle (sedan or similar) through gracious donation or for purchase. If you are able to assist, please contact info@tolministries.org.

Ash Wednesday falls on March 2 this year, and this traditionally begins the 40 days of Lent, representing the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the wilderness. During Lent, our objective is to draw closer to the Lord. As we draw close to Him in this season, let us ask Him to prepare our hearts for Easter.

We recently received a note from a lady with a check enclosed that stated, “At the beginning of the pandemic I found myself unemployed. Tree of Life gave me a place to feel needed and close to God and His work. God has blessed me with a new job and I wanted to give back to Tree of Life. Thank you and may God bless you all.”  This note represents a person that Tree of Life has blessed. Through this encounter, she expressed that in her time of need she sought the Lord and God brought Her close to Him and His work through the volunteers at Tree of LIfe.  Additionally, she was blessed with a new job, and she gives all the praise and glory for this provision to Him. Out of her new income, she has returned “firstfruits” to the Lord by making an offering to Tree of Life.

How abundant God is in His mercy!  He has seen to provide for this lady’s need by working through the volunteers at Tree of Life to show her that she has been close to God and His work.

James 1:18 states He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all He created.”  Through His love, we have received new life. We have been shown that God wants us to be a kind of firstfruits of all He created.  And through His grace, we have been given the opportunity to give back to Him, through our time and offerings.

May the Lord bless you as you give back to Him today.

May you be blessed,
Chaplain Wayne
