Wednesday, July 30th @ 9:30am

We are so excited to welcome local author, Bhavna Bhatia Roszel to SimplyBe Coffee to share about her debut novel, The “I” in Indian.  The program will start with a short introduction, then a live reading, followed by a book signing and plenty of time for questions and chatting. We hope you can be there!

Bhavna Bhatia Roszel is a writer, storyteller, and second-generation Indian American with a heart rooted in Virginia. Born and raised in the quiet hum of suburban life, Bhavna found her voice early—writing poems that were published before she even knew what it meant to be called an “author.”

Her words are shaped by the in-between—between cultures, between expectations, between who we were taught to be and who we become. Her writing explores identity, self-worth, family, and the often unspoken experiences of South Asian women in America.

Now, The I in Indian, her debut work of fiction, is a love letter to dual identity—and to love itself. Intimate, bold, and rooted in truth, the novel explores what it means to be whole in a world that so often asks us to choose. It is her most personal story yet, drawn from lived experience, cultural tension, and the fierce hope that love—both self-love and romantic love—can be the thing that sets us free.

JOIN US on July 30 at 9:30am for a reading from her novel, opportunity to meet and get a signed copy of The “I” in Indian.
